Indications
Aqualax powder for oral solution is indicated for the short-term relief of occasional constipation in adults (18 years and older). It should be used for no more than two weeks, unless otherwise directed by a physician.

Composition
Each bottle of Aqualax contains 85 grams of Polyethylene Glycol 3350 USP NF, designed for solution preparation. The included measuring cup allows for precise measurement of either 17 grams or 8.5 grams of the powder.

Pharmacology
Aqualax works primarily through the osmotic effect of Polyethylene Glycol 3350, which draws water into the colon, leading to softer stools and facilitating bowel movements. This action helps alleviate constipation, typically within four hours of use. Polyethylene Glycol is a synthetic polyglycol with an average molecular weight of 3350, and it does not interfere with the active absorption or secretion of glucose or electrolytes.

Dosage and Administration

Recommended Dose:

• The standard dose is 17 grams of the powder per day or as prescribed by a healthcare provider. This should be dissolved in a glass of water, juice, soda, coffee, or tea.
• A measuring cup is included to ensure accurate dosing. The cup should be filled to the marked line to measure either 17 grams or 8.5 grams of the powder.

How to Take:

• Dissolve the measured dose in a glass of water, juice, soda, coffee, or tea, stir well, and drink the solution.
• Important: It is crucial not to exceed the prescribed dose to avoid severe diarrhea, which can lead to dehydration.

Duration of Use:

• For optimal results, Aqualax should be used for 1 to 2 weeks. After achieving regular bowel movements, you can discontinue its use. If any unusual symptoms such as bloating, cramping, or persistent diarrhea occur, consult your doctor.
• If constipation persists beyond two weeks, a physician may suggest alternative treatments or lifestyle changes such as improved diet, increased fluid intake, and regular physical activity.

Interaction
