Pharmacology
- Vitamin B1 (Thiamine) plays a crucial role in converting carbohydrates, fatty acids, and amino acids into energy. It supports the nervous system, enhances mood, and strengthens heart function.
- Vitamin B6 (Pyridoxine) is essential for the formation of red blood cells (RBCs) and helps in protein synthesis. It is involved in the production of neurotransmitters like serotonin, releases stored energy, and aids in the prevention of cardiovascular diseases and strokes. Additionally, it can help alleviate symptoms of depression and insomnia.
- Vitamin B12 (Cyanocobalamin) is important for cell replication, RBC production, and the prevention of anemia. It also plays a key role in reducing nerve pain, numbness, and tingling sensations, and in lowering the risk of heart disease.
These vitamins are well absorbed when taken orally and are widely distributed in the body, including in breast milk. Thiamine is quickly excreted if in excess, while Pyridoxine and its derivatives are metabolized in the liver and eliminated in the urine.
