Description

Indications:
Betasil is indicated for the treatment of itching and discomfort associated with allergic conjunctivitis.

Pharmacology:
Bepotastine, the active ingredient, is a topically applied H1-receptor antagonist that works by inhibiting the release of histamine from mast cells, helping to alleviate allergy symptoms.

Dosage & Administration:
Apply 1 drop in the affected eye(s) twice daily or as recommended by your doctor.

• Pediatric Use: Safety and efficacy for children under 2 years have not been established.

Drug Interactions:
No known drug interactions, but caution should be exercised in patients sensitive to Betasil.

Contraindications:
Betasil should not be used if you are hypersensitive to Bepotastine Besilate or any other component in the preparation.

Side Effects:
Possible side effects include headache, mild eye irritation, and an unusual or unpleasant taste in the mouth.

Pregnancy & Lactation:

• Pregnancy Category C: Use only if the potential benefit outweighs the risks to the fetus.
• It is unknown if Bepotastine is excreted in breast milk, so use with caution during lactation.

Precautions & Warnings:

• Inform your doctor if you are allergic to Betasil.
• Do not use while wearing contact lenses.

Overdose Effects:
If overused, rinse your eye with warm water and wait until the next scheduled dose.

Storage Conditions:
Store at 15º-25ºC, away from light. Use within 30 days of opening and keep the bottle tightly closed after each use.
