Description

Indications
Vitamin B1, B6, & B12 is indicated in cases of vitamin deficiency and for the treatment of various conditions such as polyneuropathy of any origin, including alcoholic and toxic neuropathies, diabetic neuropathy, neuritis, neuralgia, cervical syndrome, shoulder-arm syndrome, lumbago, sciatica, myalgia, intercostal neuralgia, herpes zoster, trigeminal neuralgia, and as a supportive treatment in facial paresis.

Composition

• Each film-coated tablet contains:
  Vitamin B1 (Thiamine Mononitrate) 100 mg
  Vitamin B6 (Pyridoxine Hydrochloride) 200 mg
  Vitamin B12 (Cyanocobalamin) 200 microgram

• Each 3 ml ampoule contains:
  Thiamine Hydrochloride (Vitamin B1) 100 mg
  Pyridoxine Hydrochloride (Vitamin B6) 100 mg
  Cyanocobalamin (Vitamin B12) 1000 mcg

Pharmacology

• Vitamin B1 (Thiamine): Converts carbohydrates, fatty acids, and amino acids into energy, promotes healthy nerves, supports heart function, and improves mood.
• Vitamin B6 (Pyridoxine): Aids in the formation of red blood cells (RBCs), helps cells make proteins, produces neurotransmitters like serotonin, and releases stored energy. It helps prevent cardiovascular diseases, stroke, eases depression, and relieves insomnia.
• Vitamin B12 (Cyanocobalamin): Essential for cell replication and RBC production, prevents anemia, reduces nerve pain, numbness, and tingling, and lowers the risk of heart diseases.

These vitamins are well absorbed when taken orally and are widely distributed to body tissues, including breast milk. Thiamine is excreted in urine, while pyridoxine and its metabolites are mainly stored in the liver and excreted in urine as inactive metabolites.

Dosage & Administration

• Tablet: Take 1-3 tablets per day or as advised by a physician.
• Injection:
  • In severe (acute) cases: 1 injection daily until symptoms subside, or as directed by a physician.
  • In mild cases: 1 injection 2-3 times per week. Ampoules are preferably administered intramuscularly.
  • Use in children: No information is available regarding the use of this drug in children.

Interaction
No drug interactions have been reported thus far.

Contraindications

• Contraindicated in patients receiving levodopa therapy.
• Not suitable for patients with hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients.

Side Effects
Generally well tolerated. However, allergic reactions may occur in some cases.

Pregnancy & Lactation

• Oral tablets are recommended.
• Due to the presence of benzyl alcohol, the injection form is not recommended during pregnancy and lactation.

Precautions & Warnings

• Cyanocobalamin should not be given to patients with subacute degeneration of the spinal cord.
• Cyanocobalamin is not suitable for treating optic neuropathies associated with elevated plasma concentrations of cyanocobalamin.

Overdose Effects
No overdose symptoms are expected at the recommended dosage. If overdose occurs, treatment is symptomatic and supportive.

Store in a cool (below 25°C) and dry place, away from light. Keep out of reach of children.
