Description

Indications:

Calcin-D is used to treat a variety of conditions related to calcium deficiency and bone health. These include osteoporosis, osteomalacia, rickets, tetany, and disorders affecting the parathyroid glands. Calcium supplementation is also recommended to support adequate dietary intake in situations like pregnancy, lactation, osteogenesis, and tooth development (in conjunction with specific treatments). Additionally, Calcin-D serves as a supplement and phosphate binder in patients with chronic renal failure.

Pharmacology: Calcin-D combines Calcium Carbonate and Vitamin D3 (Cholecalciferol). Calcium plays a crucial role in several body functions, particularly in the formation and maintenance of bones. • Calcium 500 mg and Vitamin D3 400 IU Tablet: The recommended dosage is 1 tablet twice daily, also best taken with or just after a meal for optimal absorption.

Interactions: Calcin-D may interact with other supplements or medications, including:

• Antacids containing calcium, aluminum, or magnesium.
• Other calcium supplements.
• Calcitriol and other Vitamin D3 supplements.

Contraindications: Calcin-D should not be used by individuals with:

• Hypercalcemia (high calcium levels).
• Hyperthyroidism.
• Renal calculi (kidney stones) or nephrolithiasis.
