Description

Indications
Caldil-Plus is indicated for the treatment of osteoporosis, osteomalacia, rickets, tetany, and parathyroid disorders. Calcium supplements are commonly used to ensure adequate calcium intake in various conditions, including pregnancy, lactation, osteogenesis, and tooth formation (often as an adjunct to specific treatments). It is also helpful in individuals undergoing therapy with anti-seizure medications. Additionally, Caldi-Plus serves as a routine supplement and phosphate binder in patients with chronic renal failure.

Pharmacology
Caldil-Plus combines Calcium Carbonate with Vitamin D3 (Cholecalciferol). Calcium is essential for numerous bodily functions, particularly for bone formation and maintenance. Vitamin D3 aids in the absorption and reabsorption of calcium and plays a crucial role in stimulating bone formation. Clinical studies have shown that the combined effect of Calcium and Vitamin D3 supports bone growth and is effective in preventing osteoporosis and bone fractures.

Dosage & Administration

• Calcium 500 mg and Vitamin D3 200 IU Tablet: Take 2 tablets daily, or 1 tablet twice daily. For better absorption, it is recommended to take this medicine with or immediately after a meal.
• Calcium 500 mg and Vitamin D3 400 IU Tablet: Take 1 tablet twice daily. It is best taken with or just after a meal to enhance absorption.

Interactions
Caldil-Plus may interact with calcium, aluminium, or magnesium-containing antacids and other calcium supplements. It may also interact with calcitriol and other Vitamin D3 supplements, as well as medications like digoxin, tetracycline, doxycycline, minocycline, or oxytetracycline.

Contraindications
This product should not be used by individuals who have hypercalcemia, hyperthyroidism, kidney stones (nephrolithiasis), renal calculi, or Zollinger-Ellison Syndrome.

Side Effects
Caldil-Plus is generally well tolerated. However, some individuals may experience side effects such as nausea, vomiting, stomach cramps, dry mouth, increased thirst, and frequent urination. Constipation may also occur. If any of these symptoms arise, it is important to consult a physician.

Overdose Effects
