Pharmacology
Cyclopan contains dicycloverine hydrochloride, an antispasmodic and anticholinergic (antimuscarinic) agent. Chemically, it is classified as [Bicyclohexyl-]1-carboxylic acid, 2-(diethylammo) ethyl ester, hydrochloride. This medication works by relaxing the smooth muscles of the gastrointestinal tract, thereby alleviating spasms and associated pain.
Dicycloverine hydrochloride injection is a sterile, pyrogen-free, aqueous solution intended for intramuscular administration (not for intravenous use). It acts on cholinergic (muscarinic) receptors located in the gut wall, preventing certain chemicals from binding to these receptors. This inhibition results in muscle relaxation, reducing colic pain caused by gut contractions and spasms.
