Lacrima 0.1%+0.3%
Description
Indications
Lacrima is an artificial tear and lubricant used to relieve dry eye symptoms and ocular irritation caused by insufficient tear or mucous secretion. It helps prevent corneal damage in patients with keratoconjunctivitis and provides ocular lubrication. Additionally, Lacrima offers temporary relief from burning and irritation due to eye dryness and serves as a protective barrier against further irritation.
Always use as directed by a registered physician.
Pharmacology
Lacrima contains Dextran and Hypromellose, which mimic natural tears to soothe dry, itchy, and irritated eyes while preventing further discomfort.
- Hypromellose stabilizes and thickens the precorneal tear film, prolonging tear film breakup time in dry eye conditions. It enhances corneal wetting and acts as a protective lubricant.
- Dextran is a complex branched glucan that helps retain moisture on the eye surface, reducing tear film evaporation. It is also used medicinally as an antithrombotic and blood viscosity reducer.
