Description

Indications
This herbal syrup is recommended for conditions such as leucorrhea, cervicitis, non-specific vaginitis, and pelvic inflammatory diseases. Additionally, it may help alleviate lower back pain associated with leucorrhea, endometriosis, and various disorders of the urogenital tract.

Composition
Each 5 ml of syrup contains extracts of:

• Woodfordia fruticosa – 71.57 mg
• Hemidesmus indicus – 4.47 mg
• Acacia catechu – 4.47 mg
• Mangifera indica – 4.47 mg
• Caesalpinia sappan – 4.47 mg
• Adhatoda vasica – 4.47 mg
• Aegle marmelos – 4.47 mg
  Along with other beneficial herbs as per the Bangladesh National Ayurvedic Formulary (BNAF).

Description
This formulation consists of 23 potent herbal ingredients traditionally used in Bangladesh to support uterine health. It is an Ayurvedic medicine primarily utilized for gynecological conditions such as heavy menstrual bleeding, leucorrhea, and associated fevers. The product is a time-tested herbal remedy for managing leucorrhea.

Pharmacology

• Woodfordia fruticosa: A member of the Lythraceae family, it is rich in tannins, which exhibit astringent, stimulant, uterine sedative, anthelmintic, and antibacterial properties. By reducing vaginal pH, it helps prevent infections. Studies indicate its antibacterial activity is comparable to standard antibiotics like Amoxicillin and Ciprofloxacin. It also boosts the immune system by stimulating the reticuloendothelial system and releasing cytokines from macrophages, promoting bone marrow cell proliferation.
• Hemidesmus indicus: The root contains coumarins, volatile oils, and sterols, with 2-hydroxy-4-methoxy benzaldehyde being identified as an anti-inflammatory agent effective against chronic inflammation. It has also demonstrated antifungal properties in both experimental and clinical studies.
• Acacia catechu: Known for its powerful astringent and antioxidant effects, Acacia catechu provides antimicrobial, antipyretic, and anti-inflammatory benefits. The active compounds, catechins and taxifolin, possess significant antimicrobial effects, making it useful in managing chronic gonorrhea.
• Mangifera indica: Contains mangiferin, a bioactive compound with antibacterial, antiviral, anti-inflammatory, and antiallergic properties. It helps inhibit mast cell degranulation, which plays a role in allergic reactions.

Dosage & Administration

• Adults: Take 3 teaspoonfuls (15 ml) three times daily after meals for 15 days or as advised by a physician.
  Use only as directed by a registered physician.

Side Effects
When taken at the recommended dosage, no significant health risks or adverse effects have been reported. However, in rare cases, excessive doses may cause a burning sensation, diarrhea, or increased urine output.

Pregnancy & Lactation
Although there is no documented evidence of harmful effects on fetal development or breastfed infants, this syrup is not recommended for use during pregnancy.
