Description

Indications:
Optagold is indicated for the management of age-related eye diseases (ARED), providing essential antioxidant vitamins and minerals to support eye health. It helps reduce the risk of Age-Related Macular Degeneration (AMD) and cataracts.

Composition (Per Capsule):

• Vitamin C: 60 mg
• Vitamin E: 30 mg
• Lutein (Ph. grade): 6 mg
• Copper (as Cupric oxide): 2 mg
• Zinc (as Zinc oxide BP): 15 mg

Pharmacology:

• Vitamin C: Concentrated in the eye lens, it helps reduce cataract risk and scavenges harmful free radicals.
• Vitamin E: An antioxidant that scavenges free radicals and may lower the risk of cataracts.
• Lutein: A carotenoid concentrated in the macula that protects the eyes from oxidative and light damage. It is linked to a lower risk of AMD.
• Zinc: Supports enzymatic functions and immune responses. Deficiency may lead to taste/smell distortion, poor wound healing, and increased infection risk.
• Copper: Essential for growth, skeletal integrity, and nervous system development. It plays a role in various metabolic processes.

Dosage & Administration:
One capsule once or twice daily or as directed by a physician.

Contraindications:
Contraindicated in individuals with known hypersensitivity to any of its ingredients.

Side Effects:

• Vitamin C: High doses may cause diarrhea and gastrointestinal discomfort.
• Vitamin E: Excessive intake may cause abdominal pain, diarrhea, fatigue, and weakness.
• Zinc: May cause abdominal discomfort and dyspepsia.
