Indications:
Visovit is indicated for the management of age-related eye diseases (ARED). This advanced antioxidant supplement provides nutritional support for the eyes and helps reduce the risk of conditions such as Age-Related Macular Degeneration (AMD) and cataracts. The formulation contains essential antioxidants, vitamins, minerals, and Lutein for optimal eye health.

Composition (Per Capsule):

• Vitamin C: 60 mg
• Vitamin E: 30 mg
• Lutein (Ph. grade): 6 mg
• Copper (as Cupric oxide): 2 mg
• Zinc (as Zinc oxide BP): 15 mg

Pharmacology:

• Vitamin C: Highly concentrated in the lens, Vitamin C plays a key role in reducing the risk of cataracts by scavenging harmful free radicals.
• Vitamin E: Known for its antioxidant properties, Vitamin E helps in protecting the eye from oxidative stress and may lower the risk of cataracts, though the exact mechanism is not fully understood.
• Lutein: A carotenoid that accumulates in the macula, Lutein helps protect against oxidative damage and harmful light exposure, potentially reducing the risk of AMD.
• Zinc: An essential trace element involved in many enzyme systems, Zinc is important for the proper functioning of the eye. Deficiency can lead to symptoms such as distorted taste or smell, poor wound healing, and increased infection risk.
• Copper: Plays a vital role in skeletal health, growth, and nervous system development, as well as in numerous metabolic processes.

Dosage & Administration:
Take one capsule once or twice daily, or as directed by a physician.

Contraindications:
Contraindicated in individuals with a known hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients.

Side Effects:

• Vitamin C: Excessive doses may cause diarrhea and gastrointestinal disturbances.
• Vitamin E: High doses can lead to diarrhea, abdominal pain, fatigue, and weakness.
• Zinc: Large amounts may cause abdominal pain and dyspepsia.

Precautions & Warnings:

• Vitamin C: Use with caution in patients with hyperoxaluria.
• Vitamin E: Should be used carefully in patients on oral anticoagulants or estrogen, as it may antagonize Vitamin K, increasing blood clotting time.
