Description

Indications:
Vitared is indicated for managing age-related eye diseases (ARED) and provides advanced antioxidant support to promote eye health. It is formulated with essential vitamins, minerals, and Lutein, which help reduce the risk of Age-Related Macular Degeneration (AMD) and cataracts.

Composition (Per Capsule):

• Vitamin C: 60 mg
• Vitamin E: 30 mg
• Lutein (Ph. grade): 6 mg
• Copper (as Cupric oxide): 2 mg
• Zinc (as Zinc oxide BP): 15 mg

Pharmacology:

• Vitamin C: Highly concentrated in the lens, it reduces the risk of cataracts through free radical scavenging activity.
• Vitamin E: Functions as an antioxidant that may reduce the risk of cataracts and protect the eyes from oxidative damage.
• Lutein: A carotenoid concentrated in the macula, Lutein helps protect the eye from light and oxidative damage and may lower AMD risk.
• Zinc: Vital for various enzyme functions, Zinc deficiency may cause symptoms like poor wound healing, distorted taste and smell, and skin lesions.
• Copper: Important for growth, nervous system development, and metabolism, Copper also plays a key role in maintaining skeletal integrity.

Dosage & Administration:
Take one capsule one or two times daily, or as directed by a physician.

Contraindications:
Not suitable for individuals with hypersensitivity to any ingredients.

Side Effects:

• Vitamin C: High doses may lead to gastrointestinal disturbances such as diarrhea.
• Vitamin E: Excessive doses can cause diarrhea, abdominal pain, fatigue, and weakness.
• Zinc: May cause abdominal discomfort and dyspepsia.

Drug Interactions:
No known drug interactions have been reported.

Pregnancy & Lactation:
Vitared is recommended for use during pregnancy and lactation to support eye health.

Precautions & Warnings:

• Vitamin C: Use with caution in patients with hyperoxaluria.
• Vitamin E: Caution is advised for patients on anticoagulants or estrogen, as it may antagonize Vitamin K, prolonging blood clotting time.
