Pharmacology: Zinc is essential for numerous biological processes, including immune function, wound healing, digestion, reproduction, growth, and mental development. It plays a crucial role during pregnancy, childhood, and adolescence, supporting normal growth and development. Zinc is also an antioxidant and is used to treat Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) in children. In adults, zinc deficiency can result in symptoms such as loss of appetite, a decreased sense of taste and smell, depression, white spots on nails, frequent infections, low fertility, mental lethargy, poor wound healing, diarrhea, and skin issues.
B vitamins are vital for energy release from food. They are essential for maintaining brain and nerve function and the formation of healthy red blood cells. In children and adults, deficiencies in B vitamins can lead to fatigue, neurologic issues like weakness, poor balance, confusion, irritability, memory loss, and poor coordination. Additional symptoms of vitamin B deficiency include sleep disturbances, nausea, poor appetite, frequent infections, and skin lesions.
