Description

Zimax is a broad-spectrum macrolide antibiotic used to treat bacterial infections, including respiratory tract infections (bronchitis, pneumonia, sinusitis, pharyngitis/tonsillitis), otitis media, skin and soft tissue infections, and sexually transmitted diseases (e.g., non-gonococcal urethritis and cervicitis caused by Chlamydia trachomatis). It works by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis to prevent bacterial growth.

Dosage:

• Adults: 500 mg daily for 3 days or 500 mg on Day 1, followed by 250 mg for Days 2–5.
• Children: Doses vary by weight and infection type. Follow your doctor’s instructions.
• Intravenous: Used for pneumonia or pelvic infections in adults.

Administration:
Take at least 1 hour before or 2 hours after meals. Follow reconstitution instructions carefully if using the suspension.

Precautions:

• Do not use in cases of hypersensitivity to Azithromycin or other macrolides.
• Avoid combining with ergot derivatives due to the risk of ergotism.
• Exercise caution in patients with liver or severe kidney impairment.
