Xenogrow 5%

Indications: Xenogrow is indicated for the treatment of:

• Male androgenetic alopecia (male pattern hair loss) on the top of the scalp (vertex).
• Female androgenetic alopecia (female pattern hair loss) on the top of the scalp.

Use as per a registered physician’s recommendation.

Pharmacology: Minoxidil, the active ingredient in Xenogrow, has been shown to stimulate hair growth in males with androgenetic alopecia. The mechanism by which Minoxidil works in hair growth involves multiple potential actions:

• Vasodilation of microcirculation around hair follicles, promoting hair growth.
• Stimulation of hair follicle cells to enter the proliferative phase.
• Transition of follicles from the resting phase (telogen) into the growth phase (anagen).

Dosage & Administration:

• Minoxidil 2% Solution: Apply 1 mL (7 sprays) twice daily to the scalp at the center of the affected area. The total daily dose should not exceed 2 mL (40 mg).
• Minoxidil 5% Solution: Apply 1 mL (7 sprays) twice daily directly to the affected scalp area. This strength is for men only.

Use as directed by a registered physician.

Interactions:

• Avoid using Xenogrow with other topical agents, such as tretinoin or dithranol, which may alter the stratum corneum barrier.
• There is a theoretical risk of potentiated orthostatic hypotension when combined with peripheral vasodilators.

Contraindications:

• Known sensitivity to Minoxidil
• History of treated or untreated hypertension
• Abnormalities on the scalp (including psoriasis or sunburn)
• Use on a shaved scalp
• Application with occlusive dressings or other topical preparations

Side Effects:

• Colds and respiratory infections
• Rhinitis, sinusitis
• Coughing
• Scalp scaling, itching, rash

Pregnancy & Lactation:

• Minoxidil is secreted in human milk.
• Adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women are not available. Animal studies have shown risks at high exposure levels compared to intended human doses.
• Not recommended for use during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

Precautions & Warnings:

• For external use only. Apply solely to the scalp.
• Ensure the scalp is normal and healthy before application.
• Wash hands thoroughly after use.
• Avoid inhalation of the spray.
• In case of accidental eye contact, rinse thoroughly with cool tap water.
