Description

Indications
This product is indicated in the following vitamin B-Complex deficiency states:

• Beriberi
• Wernicke’s encephalopathy
• Loss of appetite
• Cheilosis
• Glossitis
• Angular stomatitis
• Keratitis
• Seborrhoeic dermatitis
• Pellagra
• Photophobia
• Peripheral neuritis
• Corneal vascularization

It is also useful in conditions causing depletion or reduced absorption of vitamins such as:

• Gastrointestinal disorders
• Chronic alcoholism
• Febrile illness
• Prolonged or wasting diseases
• Hyperthyroidism
• Poorly controlled diabetes

Additionally, it can be used in conditions resulting in increased requirements for B-Complex vitamins, such as:

• Pregnancy
• Severe burns
• Recovery from surgery

Composition
Each tablet/capsule contains:

• Thiamine HCl (Vit. B1) BP: 5 mg
• Riboflavin (Vit. B2) BP: 2 mg
• Nicotinamide (Vit. B3) BP: 20 mg
• Pyridoxine HCl (Vit. B6) BP: 2 mg

Each 5 ml syrup contains:

• Thiamine HCl (Vit. B1) BP: 5 mg
• Riboflavin 5-Phosphate as Sodium (Vit. B2) BP: 2 mg
• Nicotinamide (Vit. B3) BP: 20 mg
• Pyridoxine HCl (Vit. B6) BP: 2 mg

Each 2 ml ampoule contains:

• Thiamine HCl (Vit. B1) BP: 50 mg
• Riboflavin Sodium, Phosphate (Vit. B2) BP: 5.48 mg
• Nicotinamide (Vit. B3) B: 100 mg
• D-Panthenol (Vit. B5) USP: 5 mg
• Pyridoxine HCl (Vit. B6) BP: 10 mg

Pharmacology
This is a balanced combination of B-Complex vitamins, specially formulated for prophylactic or therapeutic nutritional supplementation in conditions requiring water-soluble B-Complex vitamins. The B-Complex vitamins are essential for normal metabolic functions, including hematopoiesis. They play a crucial role in the conversion of carbohydrates, proteins, and fats into tissue and energy.

Dosage & Administration

• Tablet and Capsule: 1-2 tablets/capsules, thrice daily.
• Syrup: 2-3 teaspoonfuls daily, or as directed by the physician.
• Injection: Used when the oral route is not feasible or when rapid correction of vitamin B-group deficiency is required. Administer intramuscularly or intravenously (slowly) at a dose of 2 mL daily, or as advised by the registered physician.

Interaction

• Pyridoxine may increase the peripheral metabolism of levodopa, reducing its therapeutic efficacy in patients with Parkinson’s disease.

Contraindications

• Hypersensitivity to any of its components.

Side Effects
Adverse reactions have been reported with specific vitamins, typically at higher levels than those found in this product. However, allergic and idiosyncratic reactions are possible even at lower levels.

Pregnancy & Lactation

• The recommended dose should not be exceeded without medical advice.

Precautions & Warnings

• Use cautiously in patients taking levodopa, as pyridoxine reduces its effect.
• Hypersensitivity may develop in patients previously given thiamine, especially after repeated injections of concentrated solutions. Subsequent injections should be given with care. Discontinue the drug if adverse reactions occur.
• Intramuscular administration may cause transient pain; when used undiluted, administer slowly.
